Tax Operations Manager - Full-time

The Tax Operations team is responsible for providing our clients with high-level support regarding the resolution of complex tax matters via OnPay’s online portal. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build and enhance our core function. We’re looking for someone to assist with managing our Tax Operations teams by ensuring that our core function (high-level payroll tax reporting agent responsibilities) is seamlessly executed. This position reports to the Sr. Tax Operations Manager. You will support the Sr. Tax Operations Manager by fulfilling responsibilities that sponsor our team’s overall success as well as assist Mitigation and Fulfillment Team Leaders with daily priorities.

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Skillfully manage and distribute tax mitigation team workload
  • Carry out tax fulfillment project management duties such as scheduling/workload distribution, monitoring deadlines, and maintaining issue register
  • Sustain a project manager mindset by monitoring tax mitigation deadlines on a case by case basis, rectifying SLA breaches, and identifying risks that could hinder deliverables
  • Routinely attend Team Leader 1:1s to go over team target points
  • Develop team metrics and reports to identify and assess areas of improvement
  • Promote an excellent client experience by ensuring that analyst’s project deadlines are being met and follow up on pending cases as needed
  • Oversee Tax Fulfillment project lifecycle for semi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, and annual filings and ensure that tasks are executed from project start-finish.
  • Mitigate project risks prior to kick-off and work with the Sr. Tax Operations Manager to develop workarounds/resolutions as needed.
  • Complete analysis after each project lifecycle to layout critical information to be reported to Sr. Tax Operations Manager.
  • Guarantee integrity and accuracy in cash flow reporting/documentation.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as hiring/interviewing, approving, timesheets & PTO requests
  • Document issues that require development’s involvement from product and technical teams
  • Track various requests and data
  • Tend to escalation as necessary

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in a technical service role
  • Experience in payroll and taxes (strongly preferred)
  • College experience (degree strongly preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience administering client information in a database
  • Advanced technical and computer skills – Microsoft Suite, CRM, Adobe Acrobat, internal databases
  • Ability to interpret technical file schemas
  • Ability to critically read and construct meaning to numerical information and data
  • Ability to construct meaningful reports from various data

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
